- Are Most Annual Canine Vaccines Necessary?
|
"Schultz, professor and chair of pathobiological
sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary
Medicine, has been studying the effectiveness of canine vaccines
since the 1970s; he's learned that immunity can last as long as
a dog's lifetime, which suggests that our "best friends" are being
over-vaccinated... over-vaccination can actually jeopardize a
dog's health and even life. Side effects can cause skin problems,
allergic reactions and autoimmune disease. Though the case in
cats, not dogs, tumors have been reported at the site of vaccine
injections." ... Read the complete news release:
Annual
Dog Vaccines May Not Be Necessary, says UW Veterinary Immunologist
[University
Communications News Release, The Board of Regents of the University

A Testimonial from Almost Heaven's
Webmaster: I experienced excellent results using a product,
containing Glucosamine, on my canine son Sam. He was diagnosed
as having the early symptoms of a Cranial
Cruciate Ligament Rupture: pain walking/running, lameness,
decreased range of motion & popping/crackling noise in the joint.
The rupture seemed inevitable since Sam, being a Jack Russell
Terrier mix, was not about to stop running and hopping -- The
boy is a hyper-active bundle of energy. In the attempt to prevent
an expensive surgery, I decided to try a Glucosamine product.
Within a month, Sam was no longer limping and yelping in pain.
It has been 2 years and Sam is doing great!! Even his Veterinarian
is amazed.

- New Goldens Available for Adoption
|
Samantha, Dan and Einstein have been added
to Almost Heaven's list of Adoptable
Golden's Looking for Forever Homes.
Spencer is a wonderful boy who is about 2 years old. He will probably
only be about 45 - 50 pounds after he fills out, so he is a little
smaller than the average male Golden.
Buddy
wags his entire body - not just his tail, and he's always happy!
He loves everyone and everything, and has no bad habits or faults.
Einstein is a gentle giant, a total sweetheart that is totally housebroken, good with kids and other pets, and well behaved.
